Have you ever thought about the human body? If so, what do you think? If not, don't do it!

Now you might think what kind of nonsense is this here?
For those who don't mind wasting their time reading nonsense, I hereby invite you to read my nonsensical experiences with my own body and my thoughts on human evolution. Of one thing I'm convinced: something went wrong somewhere!

Do not expect a scientific study or medical solutions here! Just a summary of personal findings. Not useful, hardly interesting and certainly not meaningful. But just something that keeps me busy when I get bored (or when I get others bored 😛).

For those who are still here, here's a journey along the body with some personal thoughts and doubts I have on the centuries-long development of the human body. I think it could have been better, or at least easier.

But let's start with the basics, the feet.
Well known to everyone, those basic things that are at the bottom of your legs. Fundamental? Of course! Otherwise you had to stand on your ankles and walk. Wouldn't work in my opinion. But take a good look at it. Each foot has a number of toes with corresponding nails. Not that they are of any use, but they are growing. And so they have to be clipped with some regularity. Wouldn't be a problem in itself if they were closer to my hands. And since I'm not really flexible and certainly not a contortionist, sometimes some acrobatics are involved to bring those damn things back to the desired length. Why didn't those things disappear during evolution? I do wear shoes! Nah, we have to deal with it. An advantage of the low position of the feet is that they are at a safe distance from the nose. 😎

For those who are still here, let's go up a bit to the lower legs. I'll just leave the ankles for what they are. I've cursed enough about that in the past. Have you ever thought about what's so useful about the fact that that bone is so close under the skin, while most other bones are better protected behind muscles or something? I don't get that! I would have liked to see a layer of extra muscle or fat tissue of about 5 cm for protection. That saves some expletives if you bump your leg again. Also saves plasters and gauze bandages. Or is it just me being so clumsy?

If we go further up, we arrive at the bottom, (that's right, we first approach the body from behind) that is halfway up your body. So why is it called the bottom? There is the coccyx or sacrum. The benefit of that? No idea, but it can be tricky. You just have to bounce on your tailbone! Those are the rare moments when you really become aware that it's there. And that is not a pleasant discovery! 😫

In the meantime, let's turn our gaze to the front. And then I'll stick to the male body for a while. Well, what is there of course has its usefulness and pleasant sides. But it needs some protection as unwanted contact may cause tears in your eyes... Proof that men are not the stronger sex in my opinion. Let's move on quickly.

By the way, are there any readers left?

But let's focus on the back. My personal experience is that itching is more common on the back than on the stomach. And of course the back is just at the back, where you can easily reach it? NOPE! Why aren't the arms adapted to that? Or why is the back not facing the front? Because let's be honest, how often do you have an itchy back in a place that you just can't reach? After a long time of evolution you would expect that some adaptation for this has evolved into the body. But no, it must remain difficult for some obscure reason.

Let's turn to the front again to arrive at the abdomen and chest area. Can someone tell me what the point of nipples is on a man? Only used by men with a preference for piercings and/or SM I think. I am positive about the belly though. The elasticity that a belly shows after an extensive meal and in pregnant women, that's a big plus! Kudo's to the belly so to say.

Finally we got to the head. Call it the penthouse of the human body. I'll start with the ears. Those holes on the sides of the head. Apparently nature itself didn't think it was such a great idea to put those holes on the side. That's why there are ear cups to pick up some of the sounds in front of you. Couldn't those holes have been placed directly on the front? Than we wouldn't need those weird flaps and the contact lens would probably have been invented earlier.

And then in front of the face we have another extension that excells in being strikingly present: the nose. Does it have to be so close to the mouth? Not only a nuisance if you eat strong-smelling products, but kissing without a nose, for example, would also be less difficult for many people. But as with the ears, Mother Nature probably also had a foresight, and felt that glasses would be invented before contact lenses.

So much for my litany of anatomical frustrations. My opinion is that evolution in the field of our body has dropped the ball a little bit. But I'm going to leave it this and leave the last remaining reader (nothing better to do? ) in peace. I have posted my nonsense again and despite my reservations I will have to make do with this body.

By the way, it's about time I cut my nails, so I'll give up typing today.
Much to the relief of all of you I suppose.
